About o-zoneWhy is there an o-zone? Lancaster o-zone is an initiative begun by SROC to encourage
new people to sample the sport of orienteering, and progress to become
regular orienteers. The emphasis is on fun and adventure combined, for
all Picture right - o-zone coordinator Chris Roberts accepts the award certificate from Sue Harding. Who is behind o-zone? SROC (South Ribble Orienteering Club) is the parent organisation responsible for staging the events. SROC is also the local club for all orienteers in the Lancaster area. The slightly confusing name is a product of the historical origin of this, the first orienteering club formed in England. Where can I find out more? Details of the events will be found elsewhere on this site, plus some basic information on orienteering. You can also visit the website of the national body for the sport, British Orienteering, or contact the o-zone coordinator. What policies govern o-zone? Details of data protection, equity and protection policies can be found on this page of the SROC website. SROC achieved Club Mark in 2006. Last Updated :05.09.07
